Is your New Year's resolution to start compiling, or improve, your CPD portfolio? Then don't miss January's SHOUT event with the inspiring Clarissa Sorlei!
This event is a great opportunity for students and clinicians
alike to hear how Clarrisa uses social networking to boost her impressive CPD
portfolio, and it might give ideas to get your own CPD off to a good start this
year. Social media is an increasingly important tool for occupational
therapists; come and learn how it relates to you and your practice.
Clarissa graduated in 2012 and worked in an adult acute
(mental health) inpatient unit before starting her current post in an eating
disorders service. Having moved frequently when she was younger, Clarissa is
interested in the interplay between transitions and occupation.
Using Facebook and Twitter for professional networking
throughout her time as a student significantly enhanced Clarissa's learning
experience and identity as an occupational therapist. Social media continues to
provide valuable opportunities and support as she navigates the transition from
student to clinician.
Clarissa is a member of the #OTalk team that facilitates
weekly Twitter chats about a variety of Occupational Therapy and Occupational
Science topics.
She tweets as @GeekyOT and blogs at
http://shamelessotgeek.wordpress.com.
We hope to see you there!
